Trip Overview
The Annapurna Extensive Trek, often referred to as the Annapurna Circuit, is a popular and challenging trekking route in the Annapurna region of Nepal. This trek is renowned for its diverse landscapes, ranging from subtropical forests and rice paddies to alpine meadows and arid deserts. It also offers stunning views of some of the highest peaks in the world, including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machapuchare.
Throng La Pass, Kaligandaki River Valley, spiritual Temple Muktinath, Famous Mountain viewpoint Poon Hill, Annapurna Base camp, and Ethnic settlements, including Australian Camp, are all included in this Annapurna Extensive trek. This journey also includes a combination of trekking around Annapurna. The Annapurna Circuit hike traverses the Annapurna range, beginning with the traversal of Thorong-La at 5416 meters and ending with Kaligandaki George. After crossing the steep pass, one of the most spiritually significant destinations, Muktinath, is reached along the route. The Annapurna region is home to a truly breathtaking array of natural splendor, which can be found along the trekking track.
This region is considered one of the most popular trekking regions in Nepal, and around two-thirds of the trekkers in Nepal make it a point to visit this region. It is a remarkable combination of lengthy arrays of snow-capped peaks, crystal clear lakes, turbulent rivers with deep gorges, Tibetan monasteries, hot springs, and gorgeous villages inhabited by people of an ethnic group that is simple and friendly. This is the location of the deepest Kali Gandaki George and the highest alpine Lake, Tilicho, which is 4919 meters deep. The breathtaking picture of Nepal's middle Himalayas, including the Annapurna, Manaslu, and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges, will captivate anybody who experiences it. An additional benefit of this region is the presence of the well-known and revered "Fish Tail" mountain. Pokhara, also known as the dreamland of Nepal, is the starting point for most of the trekking in this region. Pokhara is famed for its lake in the "front row center" of one of the most breathtaking Himalayan vistas in the world. Through this trekking, you can ascend to an elevation of 5416 meters.
During this Annapurna Extensive Trek, you will get to trek an entire circumference of the Annapurna Massif. We hike through the lowland settlements to the lonely northern slope of the Himalayas, the Manang region, and then down the stunning Kali Gandaki, crossing the 5416-meter pass, perhaps the highest you will ever get without climbing a mountain.
After the path climbs uphill to Poon Hill, which is considered to be one of the most beautiful mountain viewpoints in the Annapurna Region, the route continues to Annapurna Base camp after the Poon Hill excursion. The Annapurna Sanctuary Trek, also known as the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, is a breathtaking trek on foot that leads to the South Face of Annapurna I. It is a pleasant hike that takes you past communities that are diverse in terms of ethnicity and woods that are diverse in terms of flora and fauna. You can discover the Annapurna Sanctuary by traveling upstream along the Modi Khola. This sanctuary is a valley encircled by high Himalayan peaks, one of which is the spectacular Fishtail Peak-Machhapuchhare, which is 6,993 meters tall. With Poon Hill serving as the destination, you will have the opportunity to witness the dawn above the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. This will be the trip's legacy. To arrive at our destination, Annapurna Base Camp, we travel via the majority of the Gurung villages while climbing the famed Poon Hill, which is 3210 meters in height.
We pass through the rhododendron, bamboo, and pine woods along the way. As the cloud cover during the middle of the day makes it challenging to locate the trail, we get an early start in the morning to reach the Annapurna Base camp. From this vantage point, we can take in breathtaking views of Annapurna's nearly vertical south face, which towered over the sanctuary to the northwest. This one is one of the most excellent combined trips for those interested in adventure. Through the ethnic village of Ghandruk, the town of Landruk, and the Australian camp known as "Lumle," we return to Pokhara. There is a beautiful view of the Pokhara Valley and the mountains from the Australian Camp in Lumle village. After a trip around Lumle, the short hike finishes at Kande and continues to Pokhara.

Equipment list for Annapurna Extensive Trek
This checklist is designed to help you prepare for a trekking holiday in Nepal, with additional notes for those attempting to summit a trekking peak. It's reassuring to know that high-quality gear, including outdoor clothing and sleeping bags, can be conveniently rented in Kathmandu.
Most treks will be in lodges or teahouses, which offer basic rooms with two single beds and mattresses. These lodges, with their cozy rooms and provided blankets, ensure a comfortable stay, making your trek a more enjoyable experience. A good-quality three-season sleeping bag should suffice. However, for trekking peaks, you'll generally set up base camp with tents, necessitating a warmer sleeping bag, a liner to enhance its warmth, and a sleeping mattress.
