Trip Overview
The Wilderness Inner Mustang Trek is one of the most popular destinations in the Nepal Himalayas. The trek route offers stunning views of desert landscapes, barren ridges, deep canyons, eroded cliffs, and moraine valleys. Trekkers can enjoy beautiful mountain views as the trail is located in the rain shadow zone behind the Himalayas. In the upper part of the trekking trails, there are mysterious sky caves, castles, and sites that provide a great experience of the ancient culture, tradition, and religion of the Himalayas. The excursion tour and camping trip around Lo-Langtang and its surroundings offer a unique experience. This trek combines nature, culture, unique traditions, and the history of the Mustang Region.
Steeped in history and local lore, the Lho Kingdom (Upper Mustang) is home to four retreat complexes, now serving as meditation caves or retreat centers. These complexes, Ganden Ling, Puntsog Ling, Ritse Ling, and Konchok Ling in Inner Mustang, are a testament to the region's deep spiritual roots. Some have been lovingly restored as monasteries, while others bear significant signs of age and soil erosion. These retreat sites, more than 500 years old, offer a unique window into the past. Puntsog Ling, the most externally damaged by climate change and human activities, and Konchok Ling cave, located on a steep part requiring a rope to climb, are particularly intriguing.
In the first part of the program until Lo-Mangtang, we will use a jeep to drive to different destinations and stay at guest houses for meals and accommodation. After Lo-Manthang, we will organize a tented camp with a cook and helpers. This program covers many spiritual destinations such as Mentsi Lhakhang, Ramchung Cave, Ghar Gompa or Lo Gekar Monastery, hundreds of sky caves, Ketcher Dzong, Namgyal Monastery, Nyaphu Gompa, Gharphu Gompa, Nyando, Thinegga, Kimaling, Bharcha, Konchok Ling cave, Ritseling cave, Niphu, Kimbu Gompa, Samdzong, Makhchung, Chudzong Gompa, Amka, Luri Gompa, Muktinath, Jharkot Monastery, Kagbeni Monastery, etc.

Equipment list for Wilderness Inner Mustang Trek
This checklist is designed to help you prepare for a trekking holiday in Nepal, with additional notes for those attempting to summit a trekking peak. It's reassuring to know that high-quality gear, including outdoor clothing and sleeping bags, can be conveniently rented in Kathmandu.
Most treks will be in lodges or teahouses, which offer basic rooms with two single beds and mattresses. These lodges, with their cozy rooms and provided blankets, ensure a comfortable stay, making your trek a more enjoyable experience. A good-quality three-season sleeping bag should suffice. However, for trekking peaks, you'll generally set up base camp with tents, necessitating a warmer sleeping bag, a liner to enhance its warmth, and a sleeping mattress.
