Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu to Zhangmu
Drive from Kathmandu to Zhangmu: Departing from Kathmandu, you will embark on a scenic drive through verdant hills and valleys, passing traditional Nepali villages and terraced fields. Upon reaching the border town of Kodari, you will complete immigration formalities and cross into Tibet. The Journey continues to Zhangmu, a bustling border town in Tibet.
Day 02: Zhangmu to Xegar
Drive to Xegar (New Tingri): From Zhangmu, the drive ascends through spectacular landscapes, including high mountain passes such as the Lalung La Pass (5,050 m) and the Nyalam Pass (3,800 m). En route, enjoy panoramic views of the majestic Himalayas, including peaks like Shishapangma.
Day 03: Xegar to Shigatse
Drive to Shigatse: Continue the Journey to Shigatse, the second-largest city in Tibet. The drive offers captivating views of the Tibetan Plateau, dotted with nomadic herders and yaks. Upon arrival in Shigatse, visit the Tashilhunpo Monastery, the traditional seat of the Panchen Lama.
Day 04: Shigatse to Gyantse
Drive to Gyantse: Head to Gyantse, a historic town known for its rich cultural heritage. En route, you will witness the vast landscapes and traditional Tibetan villages. In Gyantse, visit the Gyantse Kumbum, a unique multi-storied stupa with numerous chapels, and the Pelkor Chode Monastery.
Day 05: Gyantse to Lhasa
Scenic Drive to Lhasa: The drive to Lhasa includes visiting Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet's most beautiful and sacred lakes. The lake's turquoise waters against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains offer a postcard-perfect view. The Journey continues via the Karola Glacier and the Kambala Pass (4,794 m) before reaching Lhasa.
Days 06 & 07: Exploring Lhasa
Potala Palace: Visit the iconic Potala Palace, the former winter residence of the Dalai Lama and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Marvel at its architectural splendor and the rich Tibetan art and artifact collections. Jokhang Temple: Explore the Jokhang Temple, Tibet's most sacred shrine, and join the pilgrims in a kora (circumambulation) around Barkhor Street. Sera and Drepung Monasteries: Discover these two major monasteries' rich history and spiritual significance. At Sera Monastery, you can witness the monks' debating sessions.
Day 08: Lhasa to Kathmandu
Depending on the tour package, you will fly back to Kathmandu or continue your travels from Lhasa. The flight from Lhasa to Kathmandu offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest.
